After years of putting on the renowned Vampire Tale, Phoenix’s own “Nutcracker of Halloween,” Scorpius Dance Theatre, in partnership with Davisson Entertainment, is taking over the beautiful Grand Ballroom (formerly Club Palazzo) for a bloodsucking blowout extravaganza, just in time for All Hallows Eve. The Vampire Ball is drama, decadence, and gravitas, brought by the performers and the patrons.
In true vampiric fashion, none of the spectacles are for the faint of heart. Fetish model and performer Perish Dignam, AZ Gender Laws cult leader Pandora Destrange, and Halo Dance Collective are the stars of the night. Expect aerial dancers, metal grinding, body painting by Brandon McGill, and endless opportunities for vanity throughout the evening. Vamp Feris Duval is your host for the evening (with an evil Broadway song up his sleeve), and the cast of Scorpius Dance Theatre have 10 reVamped performances of their own that have been cast from their traditional molds and swept into the arms of the creatures of the night.
DJs Defense.Mekanizm, Self.Destrukt, and Bella Lune take over at the witching hour to transform The Grand Ballroom into a dance club, spinning goth and industrial music to 2 a.m. Come dressed for one part of the evening and you’re set for the other—corsets, top hats, boots, and fangs are encouraged and welcome.
Dark but still fancy, Scorpius Dance Theater’s Vampire Ball is reserved for the strange and mysterious, but no less classy and sophisticated among us. Buy tickets now. VIPs enjoy early entry, food, a view from the balcony, and other vamp goodies.
